| I recently purchased a great black cookie jar with hollyhocks -- my favorite pattern. There is no factory marking on the bottom, but the signature, Gregg Ransburg, appears on the underside of the lid, written in what appears to be black ink. Written on the bottom of the jar in the same black is " Harper J Ransburg Co Indpls Ind". I live in Indy and I believe this to be an authentic jar. Can anyone tell me about the writing? |

Hi,
Not sure on the writing but, what I can tell you about the hollyhock cookie jars (have 3) are that there are 7 hollyhocks, 2 on each side and 3 in the middle, measures a little bit over 8" from rim to bottom, about 7 1/2" wide. The bottoms are all white unpaintd, none of mine are marked. I have 60+ Ransburg pieces and some do have what appears to black magic marker, mainly numbers, on the bottom. Hope this helps. |
